Record-setting ERP deployment for electronics contract manufacturer Mariachi Oy
Mariachi Oy, Turku-based electronics contract manufacturer, and Mavisystems Oy closed an agreement on an ERP system in March 2008. Mariachi’s demanding and versatile electronics solutions business will in future be managed using a Microsoft Dynamics NAV-based total solution which will cover production management, finance administration, project management, stock management, maintenance and account management. The project was completed in record time and the system was rolled out on 5 May.
Mavisystems held the main responsibility for delivering the system, and also provided the hardware and server platform in co-operation with its partners Enter System Solutions Oy and Mediatraffic Oy. Pasi Hatakka, Managing Director of Mariachi, considers Mavisystem’s total solution’s significance for the company’s business operations to be considerable and is especially satisfied with the efficiency with which the project was completed. “The project proceeded with surprising speed and we were able to begin training the key users within the agreed time-frame,” he says gratefully.
“System suppliers need to be flexible and to have skilled resources for deployment, support and continued development,” says Timo Juhala, Managing Director, Mavisystems Oy. According to Juhala, a high-quality hardware environment and well-functioning remote maintenance connections also affect the total system. “The customer should be able to focus on their own business operations, supported by a logical ERP system,” he summarises.
The central role of product traceability
Special expectations, for example in relation to the traceability of products, were placed on the system which was tailored to Mariachi’s requirements. “Medical equipment is required to have serial and batch numbers and electronics also need to be traceable. A well-functioning ERP system is an essential tool for being able to comply with strict traceability requirements,” says Pasi Hatakka.
